Therapeutic

At MCAST, three key projects explored therapeutic environments through the expressive arts. In 2023-2024, students engaged with the modalities of clown (with Francesca Zannier), and movement combined with visual arts (led by Rachel Calleja).
In 2025, EXIT | Expressive Art in Transition marked a ten-session journey into the EXIT Framework, co-facilitated by student mentor Kirsty Farrugia with the lead facilitator and researcher Rochelle Gatt, as part of MCAST’s ongoing research. Inspired by Dr. Melinda Ashley Meyers and guided under the constant supervision of Shabrae Jackson, this process integrated creative play within a transformative, trauma-informed approach.
